2016 Venture Devils Demo Day Recap

Finalist pitches at the first semiannual Venture Devils Demo Day proved to be an exciting and interesting evening for the local entrepreneurial community. With over 100 attendees gathered in the new ASU co-working space 1951 at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, these Venture Devils demonstrated why ASU is ranked #1 in the nation for Innovation.

Pitches from the 10 finalists represented diverse ventures, including startups from the biomedical, education technology, clean technology and even physical products. The winner of the 2016 Venture Devils Demo Day was BISTEG USA, a startup working on developing innovative infrastructure energy solutions for the future:

2 honorable mentions, bioSyntagma and Swift Coat, were also selected for the opportunity to join BISTEG at an exclusive investor pitch event in the spring.

Current Edson student entrepreneurship venture Blue House Coffee and current ASU Prepped participant Where’s Waffle were also in attendance serving up cold brew coffee and unique, delicious waffles.

ASU Venture Devils supports student, faculty and community entrepreneurs who are launching ventures within wide range of developmental stages, from ideation through commercialization. Venture Devils aims to catalyze the entrepreneurial success of founders by connecting them with Venture Mentors who provide regular, ongoing support. This dedicated mentorship is paired with an online Venture Devils course, which is designed to challenge, monitor, and advance the venture development process.
