Everything You Need, All at Edson E+I
At Arizona State University, we value the impact of the entrepreneurial mindset. The Edson E+I Institute supports entrepreneurs and innovators at any stage within any part of our community. With involvement from community members, alumni, students and faculty, the goal is to create an environment where any entrepreneur or creative can find themselves. By teaching key entrepreneurial skills through networking, workshops and other events, Edson E+I’s mission is to empower individuals to turn their ideas into reality. Its signature programs include Student Made at ASU®, Venture Devils and Chandler Endeavor Venture Innovation Incubator, among many others.
Chandler Endeavor Venture Innovation Incubator
The Chandler Endeavor Venture Innovation Incubator is a new model of venture incubation. With open access to monthly forums and workshops, founders upskill and learn how to communicate with investors. Participants also have access to our many Place-Based Innovation Spaces throughout the Valley, such as the Chandler Innovation Center, where participants are trained on how to use prototyping equipment. Their cohort-based model allows entrepreneurs to join a community and learn alongside other founders who are going through a similar process.
Venture Devils
The Venture Devils program, a staple of Edson E+I, is a community of entrepreneurs who are either ASU or MCCCD students with ideas for something bigger. The mainstays of this program are venture mentorship, learning opportunities such as workshops and the opportunity to participate in Pitch Playoffs and potentially Demo Day. With mentorship being the pivotal factor in business success, the Venture Devils network of 40+ mentors is a huge benefit to our students who are looking to gain insight from industry experts. With options to meet both in-person and online, there are opportunities for all students.

Student Made at ASU®
Student Made at ASU® is a student‑run marketplace and entrepreneurial community hosted by Edson E+I in collaboration with Student-Made. The platform helps student entrepreneurs turn their creative ideas—especially in the areas of art, design, fashion and handcrafted goods—into real businesses. Creators work at their own speed and produce as much as they want to during the year, adding to the flexibility of the program and making it a potential income stream for students. Students grow their entrepreneurial skills and get their products market-ready.
Training and Development Resources
Edson E+I’s Training and Development Resources are free and available online to anyone interested in entrepreneurship. This can range from students to faculty, staff and community members. These modules provide support and education to ventures at any stage. They cover a wide range of topics from the foundations of entrepreneurship to grant writing and legal concepts, and each resource only takes about 10-15 minutes. They are designed to be user-friendly and accessible, allowing learners to progress at their own pace. Additionally, participants can revisit the modules as often as needed to reinforce their knowledge and skills.
ASU Patent & Trade Resource Center
Last year, ASU worked with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and reopened its Patent & Trade Resource Center. The PTRC is part of a nationwide network found in libraries across the country. They help educate you on patent and trademark searches, explain the application processes and connect you with local patent attorneys to make the process a whole lot easier. If you are concerned about disclosure, they are a great resource because they can help you understand how to move forward while still maintaining your confidentiality. Beyond patents, they also support branding and trademarks, helping a wide variety of entrepreneurs.
Sandra Day O’Connor Law School
The Entrepreneurship and Small Business Clinic, a part of the Sandra Day O’Connor Law School, is an innovative program that pairs inventors, entrepreneurs and emerging companies with teams of ASU Law students. This opportunity allows students to gain assistance in developing critical business infrastructure to pursue their idea further. The clinic aims to provide businesses with legal services (pro bono) often unavailable to startups and small businesses. Using this as a training for ASU Sandra Day O’Connor Law School students,t this experiential learning opportunity prepares students for careers in the legal field.
Ira A. Fulton E+I
The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, E+I @ Fulton Schools, empowers all students, faculty, staff and alumni to leverage an entrepreneurial mindset centered around iterative learning. Traditionally, the engineering vertical produces a high number of entrepreneurs because the courses often provide many opportunities for research and venture exploration. By creating a direct pathway for entrepreneurship and engineering, ASU is able to develop engineers who advance ideas of public benefit, creating new products and services that create an impact.

W.P. Carey Center for Entrepreneurship & New Business Design
The Center for Entrepreneurship and New Business Design is a hub within Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business, and it equips students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members with the skills, mentorship and real-world experience needed to launch and grow ventures. As an extension of the W. P. Carey School of Business, the Center for Entrepreneurship and New Business Design promotes experiential learning, collaboration and an active network of faculty, staff and alumni. It is not limited to business majors, though—the Center is accessible to all ASU students.
