What does it take to launch an idea? Just Start!

It’s not easy to launch a startup that will be the next Facebook, Tesla or non-profit that will change the world. We have come up with the perfect recipe for what it takes to make your idea happen:

  • A little bravery goes a long way.
Brave

The first leap of faith in your own idea is the scariest, but it’s totally worth it. Take that leap. You’ll be better off for it.

  • #squadgoals

Find your squad. Surround yourself with people who love and support you, and believe in you. Listen to their ideas about your idea. Don’t be afraid to ask for their help often. They are the ones who’ll carry you in the best and worst of times.

  • Be as persistent as Pizza Rat.

Persistence is key to making your idea happen. You’ll find that sometimes ideas, teams, maybe even you might change. However, being persistent about your idea will be key to whether you succeed or not.

Remember, Pizza Rat is all of us. All of us are Pizza Rat.

  • Be obsessed.
Excited

“”If you become obsessed with your idea, purpose or goal, you will become equally addicted to the idea of making it work.” – Grant Cardone

Truer words have never been spoken.

  • Just Start!

It’s never been easier to get started on your idea at Arizona State University. ASU Launch Day will be on a different ASU campus every week in October. Come find us and talk to us about your idea. We’ll tell you how to make it happen. Then pitch it at Open Pitch and get super valuable feedback on how to make it better! Also, while you’re at it, pick up the best swag of all ASU swag – a “Just Start” t-shirt and notebook. Believe us. You’d want them.

RSVP here to pitch at Open Pitch on any of the campuses: entrepreneurship.asu.edu/launchday.

Tell us your #FirstPitch story on Twitter and Facebook. Use #juststart or #firstpitch. Also, watch this space for some #FirstPitch stories from our very own ASU student entrepreneurs.
