There is no better time to start innovating in health care than right now! The Health Entrepreneurship + Innovation Club is a student-led organization preparing undergraduate and graduate-level students with the skills and mindset necessary to stimulate ideas and bring creative and out of the box solutions related to health innovation. The organization recognizes and promotes emerging student entrepreneurs, providing resources, opportunities and encouragement. This club is unique because of these five reasons:
1. Structured Workshop format to ACTUALLY prepare you for pitch competitions
New to the Fall 2020 semester is a workshop-style format that takes students from idea to pitch ready. You do not need an idea to join the club. More than anything, we are building students’ entrepreneurial mindsets to look at problems as opportunities and getting creative with the solutions. The course of the workshop covers identifying your problem and solution, developing your business model, building your team, funding and marketing, legal considerations, and preparing your pitch. On November 12th, the club is hosting its own pitch competition with a $1,000 prize!
2. Dedicated space and time for ideation
Student schedules can get hectic from classes to jobs to extracurriculars to fitting in enough sleep. As a club member, you can rest easy knowing you have one hour each week dedicated to pursuing your entrepreneurial ideas. Don’t wait until graduation to begin innovating! The beauty of entrepreneurship and innovation is that it is a continuous process of discovery and transformation. Embrace the process in the club environment where we ensure inclusion.
3. Direct access to mentorship through the HEALab
Experience is often the best teacher. At the Health E+I Club, we are supported by mentors and professionals who are enthusiastically sharing their experience in entrepreneurship and innovation through the Health Entrepreneurship Accelerator Lab (HEALab). You can learn from their successes and failures, propelling you and your idea forward and avoiding common entrepreneurial mishaps.
4. Guidance from experts and professionals as guest speakers every other week
The Health E+I Club is focused on providing members with the knowledge base needed to grow your idea. That’s why every other week experts and professionals on the six workshop topics present to the club and provide feedback to students. From Arizona State University professors to knowledgeable community members, you will feel prepared with the tools to take your idea to the next level.
5. Networking with like-minded students; meet your co-founder
You won’t feel out of place with a big dream in the Health E+I Club! One thing all members have in common is an openness to new ideas—big or small. Connecting with others around a common mission or vision is an incredibly rewarding experience. You may not know how you’re going to make an impact on the world just yet, but when you’re surrounded by dreamers, doers, and go-getters you’ll feel inspired. There’s no better place to meet your co-founder than the Health E+I Club.
Join us at one of our club meetings, every Thursday this Fall from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. online via Zoom.
