Work with us: Now hiring for our Youth Entrepreneurship team

Educators are a special group of people. They come from many different backgrounds and experiences. Their methods of reaching students are as varied as their personalities. The day-to-day challenges and triumphs they experience are as diverse as the students they serve. One shared thread among educators is the driving force behind what they do: purpose and passion. If you are looking for a new professional vehicle to harness that passion, consider reading more below.

The Youth Entrepreneurship team with the J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute at Arizona State University can provide that purpose to serve as a vehicle for your passion. Our mission as an institute is to make entrepreneurship accessible to everyone at ASU and in our greater community. Our Youth Entrepreneurship team aims to empower young students with an entrepreneurial mindset through cutting-edge technology and real-world problem-solving in an experiential learning space, available online or onsite at their school.

This team includes 20+ team members with educational backgrounds, ranging from former K-12 educators, administrators, edtech professionals, instructional designers and a VR filmmaker. Our common denominator is the passion for our mission-driven work to empower educators and students alike in Title I middle schools across the United States, and our team is growing.

In the last six years, we have partnered with over 500 schools and served 15,000+ students. And we’re just getting started. We need passionate educators who want to create culturally relevant and inspiring programs that bring learning to life.

What you will contribute to

Education is a collaborative experience, and this team takes a holistic approach in serving communities. As a member of the team, you will help support our three main communities: teachers and administrators, students, and the education profession.

For our teachers and administrators: our team supplies schools with emerging technology and curriculum, including Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), 3D modeling and printing and Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as professional learning and opportunities to earn professional certifications to support the instructors. We have developed and are continuing to evolve a badging program through Badgr to allow teachers to track and quantify their skills in emerging technology, lab management, entrepreneurship and sustainability.

Educators participating in an institute training event pitch their solutions after a design thinking exercise.

For our students: we provide them with the opportunity to work with issues in today’s society by leveraging technology, social innovation and design thinking to improve their communities.

For advancing the education profession: we support the communities ASU serves by providing curriculum, professional development, and student workshops for schools and nonprofits seeking to integrate the entrepreneurial mindsets into their offerings.

Youth Entrepreneurship team members like to make learning fun and engaging for students and educators. Becoming a codable bot during a session is just one way we make learning exciting.

ASU employee benefits

Along with the impactful, mission-driven work with the Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute, you will also be a part of the larger Arizona State University community. Working for ASU includes a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, retirement programs, qualified tuition reduction for the employee and dependents, wellness programs, including employee assistance and more. There are even miscellaneous perks such as employee discounts at retailers, sporting events, concerts, movies and theme parks. Our team members are part of communities of practice outside of the Edson E+I Institute to learn and advance their skill sets, such as the Project Management Network and Badgr at ASU, to name a few.

Working at ASU means you are a part of a larger mission of making education more accessible, with the goal of improving society across Arizona and the United States.
