Mesa and Arizona State University leaders broke ground Friday on a long-awaited ASU building in downtown Mesa.
The $73.5 million “digital innovation hub” will house primarily film, arts and technology programs at the northwest corner of Pepper Street and Centennial Way. Next to it will be a large public plaza. Both are expected to open in spring 2022.
Mesa City Councilwoman Jen Duff, who represents the downtown area, called the groundbreaking “a dream come true.”
