Fusion on First Avenue
Fusion on First
What is Fusion on First?
Fusion on First is an apartment community that is embedded in a setting that connects students organically with the regional business community and with key resources supporting creative ventures among students, faculty, alumni and local artists, businesses and government agencies. Fusion on First presents an image of innovation that sets the stage to cultivate and amplify new research and entrepreneurship.
Fusion’s first three stories are a high-tech innovation hub geared towards such academic programs as design, popular music, and fashion. The innovation hub’s interiors integrate entrepreneurial and community-focused programs from across the Herberger Institute of Design & the Arts under the same roof, and provide a mix of studios, classrooms, offices, exhibition and event space.
Who is it for?
Fusion on First offers an apartment community for up to 550 upperclassman students, and the public innovation hub is an entrepreneurial home for all ASU students.
How can students use it?
All ASU students are invited to attend events in Fusion, work on their next big idea in the co-working space, catch a bite to eat in the Flip Kitchen and more. The innovation hub at Fusion is where people and ideas can come together to create something new. Students in the popular music and fashion programs also have access to the state-of-the-art fabrication spaces and recording studios.
What services does it provide?
Fusion’s innovation hub hosts daily community activities, ranging from study sessions, open mic nights, movie screenings, think tank-type gatherings and workshops that offer students the tools they need to succeed in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. In addition to participating in community-building, students can use the co-working space, conference rooms, Flip Kitchen and event space to work on their dreams and bring them to life.
