Discovery Series Keynote Panel: Reimagine Phoenix

We know that pursuing a circular economy is good for the environment and society, as well as the economy, and research has indicated that community-scale development is ideal for implementing a circular economy. Now the big question is "HOW"… How can local governments and their partners take the idea of the circular economy and make it into a reality? The City of Phoenix is at the forefront of circular economy and has started to set precedents that other local governments can use for inspiration. Learn how to take these models and turn them into a reality in your community.

AZ Founders Guild is opening a chapter in Surprise AZ!

It's not traditional networking. At the AZ Founders Guild, we believe that no matter how experienced you are, you always have something to learn from someone. And no matter how inexperienced you are, you always have something to teach someone. It's deep relationship building through 30-minute 1-on-1 mentoring sessions.

The event starts with a brief introduction from all founders. From there, every 30-minutes you will mentor someone or someone will mentor you.

There will also be a mastermind round-table to address a very specific topic that faces all founders. This event's topic will be "How to survive when you are scaling too quickly".

Previous meetings were a huge success. One member said: “Pure hype-free value. Very refreshing compared to events in Silicon Valley.” Another said: "AZ Founder's Guild is a great mix of talent, energy, enthusiasm in a very comfortable format and atmosphere."

The event is open to founders, co-founders, and those who expect to be founders in the next 3-6 months. Experience the Guild for yourself at any of our chapters and see why one member says " it is truly the most valuable event i have been to and i can attend without the fear of having my time wasted by a sales presentation." Leave the event inspired and armed with actionable knowledge to grow your business.

Agenda:
8:00 – 8:15 am: Open networking
8:15 – 8:30 am: Introductions and reservations
8:30 – 11:00 am: six 30-minute mentoring sessions

CHANDLER INNOVATIONS TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL STARTUP CONNECTION, SEPT. 20-21
Free Event to Feature Workshops, Panel Discussions and Resources to Help Startups Their Firms

Entrepreneurs can grow their networks while honing their skills in everything from forecasting and financing to branding and building a team at the second annual Startup Connection, Sept. 20-21, in Chandler.

The free two-day event is being hosted by Chandler Innovations, the entrepreneurial development program that promotes the creation and sustainable growth of startups through ongoing mentorship and tech-focused business development curriculum and events.

Steve Reese, chief information officer of the Phoenix Suns, will kick off the event on Sept. 20 with a keynote address that traces the evolution of IT in business and sports from the “fix-it” crew to company innovators. That will be followed by a Shark Tank-style competition at which three companies will pitch their concepts to a panel of esteemed judges.

Then on Sept. 21, participants can immerse themselves in a series of interactive workshops, roundtables and panel discussions with startup and small-business experts.

“We are thrilled to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, industry experts and thought leaders to help companies that are the backbone of our economy,” said Diana White, CEO of Chandler Innovations.

Chandler Innovations is sponsored by the City of Chandler and powered by Moonshot at NACET, a Flagstaff-based nonprofit that helps aspiring entrepreneurs turn big ideas into successful businesses and assists nonprofit leaders and cities in developing entrepreneurial ecosystems.

“Entrepreneurial spirit and forward-thinking leaders have shaped our city into a community of innovation,” said Chandler Councilmember Mark Stewart. “Through the Startup Connection, we can bring together the resources needed to help local entrepreneurs learn how they can build the next major company right here."

The city and Fennemore Craig are the event’s featured sponsors. Arizona State University is the facility’s partner and the Chandler Chamber of Commerce and other event supporters also are involved in the event.
