Who: All ASU-affiliated innovators are encouraged to attend.
What: A weekly series of open conversations - otherwise known as WWW=W3 (Working With Wayne) - that focus on how to take your ideas to the next stage(s) of development. Wayne Smith, an ASU Entrepreneurial Catalyst Senior, will share innovation resources available at ASU, such as Entrepreneurial Mindset approaches, Venture Devils startup methods, Business Model Canvas techniques, and other best practices. Each innovator is encouraged to attend as often as required to move their idea forward.
When: Every Wednesday; 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Date: March 1, 2019 - 9:00am to 11:00am
Location: ASU Tempe campus – Exact location will be shared with registrants one week prior to the session.

What: Registered researchers will go through ASU’s I-Corps Next Stage training, which is an assumption/hypothesis-testing, customer-focused discovery process to gather important insights needed to maximize the impact of their Innovations. ASU-affiliated I-Corps teams who complete the training may be eligible to receive a $2K lab grant. High performing teams could be in a position to gain acceptance into the National I-Corps Program, which provides $50K+ grants for continued customer discovery efforts.
When: Fridays, February 15, 22 and March 1, 2019; 9 - 11 am

Location: HEALab - 1st Floor of Taylor Place

Pitch your idea, receive feedback and network with other ASU students interested in Entrepreneurship + Innovation. Pitching at Open Pitch provides an amazing opportunity to improve your storytelling and could even provide a connection that helps you grow your idea into a venture.

This event will be presented by ASU Entrepreneurship + Innovation. Students have exactly 2 minutes to pitch an idea, no visual aids/PowerPoints/etc. If we have 5 or more students pitch their ideas, there will be a prize of $250 for the “Crowd Favorite!”

We will also be tabling on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Taylor Mall. Please stop by to receive a free “Just Start T-Shirt” and additional resources!

What:  Registered participants will go through ASU’s I-Corps Boot Camp training, which is an assumption/hypothesis-testing, customer-focused discovery process to gather important insights needed to maximize the impact of their innovations. After training, select teams will advance to an upcoming Three-Week Next Stage Invitational offering with a chance to win a $2000 ASU I-Corps Site Grant.
When: Fridays, March 23 and 29, 2019; 11 am - 1 pm

Date: March 25, 2019 - 8:00am to March 27, 2019 - 5:00pm
Location: ASU Downtown Campus: College of Nursing & Health Innovation: 550 N. 3rd St, Phoenix, AZ 85004

This will be a three day immersion program for incoming cohort ventures. Once the circular economy ventures have been selected and accept their offer to join the incubator cohort, the founders will be brought to Phoenix for a 2 day immersion program with an optional additional day. Over the course of the immersion program, the ventures will have the opportunity to connect with other ventures in their cohort as well as ASU faculty, City of Phoenix staff, and other local experts and mentors. The ventures will learn more about how to scale their ventures through participation in a series of technical development workshops which will guide them in establishing strategies to connect with the right people, networks, and resources during their incubation term as well as post-incubation.

What: Fifteen of the top student-led tech ventures from across the country will pitch in the www.winASU.io semi-finals. A group of ASU Innovation Open sponsor judges will identify the top 5 ventures. Each Finalist team will receive a $5K Zero Mass Water Award and be granted a bid to compete for $100K from Avnet, $25k from ON Semi, and other prizes, during the ASU Innovation Open Finals in February 2019. Additionally, Todd Davis, co-founder of LifeLock will deliver a keynote talk. LifeLock was acquired for $2.3B. There will also be a panel discussion featuring former ASUio contestants, and other regional startup leaders.

Who: All ASU-affiliated student, faculty, staff and alumni-led startup teams who are experimenting within the emerging market of artificial intelligence and voice technology.

What: The ASU Amazon Alexa Venture Challenge inspires and enables ASU-affiliated entrepreneurs to enhance their innovative products or services with voice. As conversational AI advances, we will increasingly interact with technology using voice. ASU innovators are encouraged to be in the vanguard of this evolution.

When: Requests for FREE Echo Dots will be reviewed on a rolling basis through Friday, December 7. The $10,000 seed grant funding will be awarded via the ASU Venture Devils Demo Days, which are held at the end of each fall and spring semester. Venture Devils applications are accepted and processed five times per year, coinciding with the Fall A+B, Spring A+B, and Summer C session start dates.

Compete for $10,000 in seed grant funding – Apply to Venture Devils: https://entrepreneurship.engineering.asu.edu/amazon-alexa-venture-challenge/ - Once you are accepted into Venture Devils, you will be invited to participate in the Pitch Playoffs each semester. The Pitch Playoffs serve as the bi-annual gating mechanism for the Amazon Alexa Venture Challenge funding track.
