On March 1-2, 2018, The National STEM Collaborative and ASU's Entrepreneurship + Innovation are hosting the third annual Women of Color STEM Entrepreneurship Conference in Arizona.

The conference is a collaborative effort to advocate for increased participation of women of color in entrepreneurship experiences and small business enterprise; to advance entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial student engagement; and to transform the ways that entrepreneurship is viewed, taught and experienced in higher education.

Venture Devils supports all ASU student, faculty, and community-based entrepreneurs. The program aims to catalyze the entrepreneurial success of founders by connecting them with Venture Mentors who provide regular, ongoing support. This dedicated mentorship is paired with an optional online Venture Devils course, which is designed to challenge, monitor, and advance the venture development process. As part of Venture Devils, founders may receive direct access to ASU funding opportunities and venture development spaces.

Devils Invent is a series of weekend-long engineering and design challenges. Participating students are encouraged to design, build, and implement innovative solutions to challenging problem statements submitted by community, industry and University partners.

Devils Invent events are targeted at students that are committed to making a difference and developing their entrepreneurial mindset. The challenges are open to Freshman- Ph.D. students. Teams will be formed during the event.

Devils Invent – Tempe events will be hosted in the Generator Labs (ECG 100) and surrounding eSpaces and 3D print lab. For the fall 2017 November event, the new Tooker House residence hall will host a freshmen-only event. Polytechnic events will be hosted in the Innovation Hub (Technology Center) and surrounding classroom spaces.

If you’re a student with a big idea, the Edson Student Entrepreneur Initiative is your chance to turn that idea into a successful venture. ASU provides Edson teams with all the tools they need to start, advance and grow a venture. Teams chosen to participate in Edson are awarded office space, mentoring, seed funding and an educational program that includes ASU Startup School, a proven framework for venture acceleration.

For over a decade, the Edson program has proven to be a highly responsive, individualized and student-centered entrepreneurship program that delivers economic, social and educational impact in real-time.

The Edson Student Entrepreneur Initiative has supported more than 300 student teams and more than 1,200 students in the past 12 years.

In the past three years, Edson teams have raised over 2 million dollars, filed more than 30 patents and hired more than 150 employees.
Edson Design Principles

Generate Awareness
Edson is promoted through extensive on-campus outreach and academic partnerships.
Advance Ideas
Edson applications will be evaluated for viability, scalability and compliance with university standards.
Engage Multiple Perspectives
Edson Advisory Board (EAB) members from across industries and sectors will evaluate and support ventures.
Promote Professionalism
Edson applicants will be current students and in good academic and professional standing.
Invest in the Future
Edson will offer up to $20k in seed funding and up to 12 months of acceleration and support services.
Commit to Progress
Edson awardees will sign a term sheet that outlines program benefits, benchmarks and expectations.
Impact the World
Edson graduates will be supported in securing opportunities for advancing and scaling their venture.
Eligibility

Edson is open to new or existing startup teams that have at least one current ASU student as a key founder enrolled in at least one credit hour at the time of the application deadline.
Edson is open to all ASU students, including undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral and part-time students.
Edson is open to ideas and ventures that are not in conflict with the Student Code of Conduct.
Participation in Edson is limited to two years.

Attend Solutions Summit, a gathering of ASU's most passionate social innovators and changemakers. Learn about current local and global challenges we face such as hunger, the refugee crisis, water, education, homelessness and sustainable living from some of the top experts - and discuss what YOU can do to solve them.

Attend workshops led by leading experts and researchers in the areas of sustainability, education, poverty and human rights.
Past topics have included: climate change, sustainable farming, challenges faced in education, inequality issues in Phoenix, human trafficking, and global poverty.
Join these experts, your fellow ASU students, and community members in roundtable discussions about these challenges. Discuss the problem, potential solutions and how you can get involved with the presenters and your peers.
Network with other ambitious, like-minded students from different backgrounds throughout the day.

RISN Incubator is excited to announce Trash Hack – Redesigning the future of plastics. Trash Hack is a new type of hackathon aimed at finding new and innovative solutions to reduce, repurpose, recycle, and design out solid waste in the City of Phoenix. The focus of the current one is on PLASTICS.
