Hacks for Humanity, sponsored by Project Humanities at Arizona State University (ASU), is a 36-hour hackathon for the social good, challenging participants to create technologies to address local and global issues.

Not a “hacker?” Not a problem.

Indeed everyone in between from high school to professional retirement.

Hacks for Humanity provides participants with the skills and resources they need in order to succeed as social entrepreneurs. We will have workshops and mentors on site to assist you by any means to guarantee you compete at your highest potential, and most importantly have fun.

Participants walk into these event participants but walk out as innovators. Join us for an opportunity to have fun, to grow, and to start your journey as a leading force of social change.

Andrew Steele, CEO of BeckonCall (a mobile SaaS product to replace legacy telephone answering services in the healthcare industry) will be coming to the HEALab to discuss strategies for launching a health-related tech solution. Andrew has years of experience with startups in silicon valley and is now based in Arizona, where he partnered with Neurohospitalist Jeffrey Becker to disrupt the outdated on-call systems used to communicate with physicians.

The Live @ Generator Lab weekly event series is here to help you become an entrepreneur and innovator. Every 1st and 3rd Thursday, learn from successful entrepreneurs and startup CEOs, gather with like-minded students to build your venture team and learn new skills to help you on your path to entrepreneurship.

Location: Innovation Hub (Technology Center)

Devils Invent is a series of weekend-long engineering and design challenges. Participating students are encouraged to design, build, and implement innovative solutions to challenging problem statements submitted by community, industry and University partners.

Devils Invent events are targeted at students that are committed to making a difference and developing their entrepreneurial mindset. The challenges are open to Freshman- Ph.D. students. Teams will be formed during the event.

Devils Invent – Tempe events will be hosted in the Generator Labs (ECG 100) and surrounding eSpaces and 3D print lab. For the fall 2017 November event, the new Tooker House residence hall will host a freshmen-only event. Polytechnic events will be hosted in the Innovation Hub (Technology Center) and surrounding classroom spaces.

ASU Launch Days are signature campus outreach events held each semester to create awareness of entrepreneurship programs, resources and opportunities available at ASU. Launch Days encourage students from all majors to live and think entrepreneurially.

On Launch Day, you can expect to learn more about entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities during class visits, and will have the chance to connect directly with E+I team members and student entrepreneurs to learn more and receive free giveaway items. This fall, we will be visiting campuses weekly each Thursday. Look for us on campus and stop by for a free "Just Start" notebook and t-shirt.

Attend Solutions Summit, a gathering of ASU's most passionate social innovators and changemakers. Learn about current local and global challenges we face such as hunger, the refugee crisis, water, education, homelessness and sustainable living from some of the top experts - and discuss what YOU can do to solve them.

Attend workshops led by leading experts and researchers in the areas of sustainability, education, poverty and human rights.
Past topics have included: climate change, sustainable farming, challenges faced in education, inequality issues in Phoenix, human trafficking, and global poverty.
Join these experts, your fellow ASU students, and community members in roundtable discussions about these challenges. Discuss the problem, potential solutions and how you can get involved with the presenters and your peers.
Network with other ambitious, like-minded students from different backgrounds throughout the day.

RISN Incubator is excited to announce Trash Hack – Redesigning the future of plastics. Trash Hack is a new type of hackathon aimed at finding new and innovative solutions to reduce, repurpose, recycle, and design out solid waste in the City of Phoenix. The focus of the current one is on PLASTICS.
