By attending this installment of the Business Builder series, you can learn about techniques for exploring revenue diversification as well as e-commerce tools to help your venture tap into the booming digital economy. The workshop will introduce frameworks to guide action and assessment, an overview of e-commerce options and a focus on the most popular tool, Shopify. Next, an interactive interview with a local entrepreneur about their own experience with revenue diversification and Shopify for rich, real-world insights. Attendees will then work in breakout groups to get hands-on experience with the strategies described. This workshop also provides an opportunity to connect and establish a community of support as each applies these lessons to their own entrepreneurial journey.

Who: This series is designed as a perfect first step on a journey to learn about key components of a sustainable venture. Any entrepreneur, maker, do-er or dreamer is welcome to participate and learn.

Social media can be easily used to drive sales and people are spending more time on it than ever before. Discard any previous assumptions about sites like Facebook and make social media a major component of your venture's marketing plan. Attendees of this Business Builder workshop will learn about simple strategies and tips from an experienced social media professional as well as hear from a local entrepreneur who has boosted their business through effective use of social media. The workshop will include demos as well as interactive discussions with the panel and attendees. This workshop also provides an opportunity to connect and establish a community of support as each applies these lessons to their own entrepreneurial journey.

Join Estrella Mountain Community College and ASU Entrepreneurship + Innovation in this full online experience to gain workforce skills and the opportunity to win fantastic prizes! This action-packed two-day virtual meetup brings together the best creative minds at Estrella Mountain Community College to build real-life solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Community college students of all majors, backgrounds, and experiences will build community, practice entrepreneurial skills and gain tools needed in today's workforce. Help make the West Valley into a safe, vibrant, innovative community you are proud to call home!

The week leading up to the event, students who register will receive emails, tools and video presentations by local organizations dealing with real challenges faced in our community. Participants can also submit problems they want to solve.

On Monday, March 1st, from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm participants will create diverse work teams to develop real-life solutions and pitch their innovative ideas. Local mentors will be available to give feedback and ideas.

Then Tuesday, March 2nd, from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm; participants will work with their teams to refine their idea, create an implementation strategy and pitch their idea to local leaders. A panel of community leaders will select student groups to win fantastic prizes, including scholarship funding.

To be eligible for the scholarships, you must be a current EMCC student and participate in both days.

Who: Current EMCC students are invited to participate in the main summit session and the entire community is invited to watch the student solution presentations at the summit's conclusion on the final day to celebrate their accomplishments.

When: Monday and Tuesday, March 1st and 2nd 8:00am-1:00pm

Learning outcomes: By the end of this workshop, student attendees will be able to:
• Identify and utilize the entrepreneurial process to solve problems
• Work effectively with people from different backgrounds and with different skillsets
• Connect with community organizations to solve community challenges
• Create presentation and present ideas to a large group
• Use technology tools to work virtually with a team

Date: March 9, 2021 - 9:00am to 10:30pm

Peoria has a vibrant art scene that has innovated and pivoted to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. This Creative Entrepreneurs event spotlights these artists' stories, showcases their work and creates an interactive discussion about the business they have built. Attendees will learn about how these artists started their business as well as how they market and sell their work locally. The event will include an interactive discussion, trivia and a special tour of the city of Peoria's newest community innovation space, Pop Up Peoria at West Mark.

Who: Anyone interested in art, entrepreneurship, innovation and community involvement

When: Tuesday, March 9, 9:00-10:30am

By the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to:
• Meet local artists and learn about their journey as creative entrepreneurs
• Tour (either in-person or virtually) Pop Up Peoria and learn about its programs
• Participate in and strengthen the vibrant community of Peoria

Date: March 25, 2021 - 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Location: Virtual

While every entrepreneur’s journey is different, there are some key concepts and resources that everyone can access to illuminate their options and fast-track progress. Join this interactive discussion with mentors, founders and resource providers to get a no-nonsense take on moving a venture from an idea to a high-growth business.

Who: Innovators who have identified an idea or business and are looking to grow.

When: Thursday, 3/25/2021 5:00pm - 6:00pm

By the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to:
• Navigate the right resource to reach their goals
• Identify the different types of support available to them
• Articulate their next steps towards building a venture
