What: Join the ASU Library Map and Geospatial Hub for this two-hour workshop on working with digital elevation model (DEM) data in a free, open source geographic information system (GIS). This hands-on workshop will describe the structure of raster elevation surfaces; identify good, free sources of DEM data at multiple spatial resolutions; and do some common processing and 2D/3D visualization of these data for basic topographic and related analyses. We'll be using a free, open source GIS called QGIS.
