LIVE @ HEAL: Tara Sundem on The Tiniest Victims of the Opioid Crisis...Babies Born Passively Dependent
The Health Entrepreneurship Accelerator Lab (HEALab) and the Health Entrepreneurship and Innovation Club are excited to welcome Tara Sundem to Arizona State University.
Everyday two Arizona babies are born withdrawing from the substances they were exposed to prenatally. Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Opiate Use Disorder and Medication Assisted Treatment will be discussed. Come learn about Hushabye Nursery's care model and future opportunities.
Tara Sundem’s career in healthcare has spanned across the valley neonatal intensive care units. She most recently serves as Executive Director at Hushabye Nursery. Under Tara’s leadership, Hushabye Nursery has grown from an idea to ‘save the babies’ in 2016 to a new care model serving the entire family system impacted by the opioid crisis starting prenatally and continuing after discharge from the hospital. Tara holds a Master of Science from Arizona State University and is a board-certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Tara lives in Gilbert with her husband, two sons and dog.
