Last week, Peoria Forward received the Best of the West Award for Excellence in Innovation from WESTMARC.
WESTMARC – the Western Maricopa Coalition – is a public/private partnership of the 15 cities, the business community and the educational sector in the West Valley. The Best of the West Awards Dinner is a signature event for WESTMARC with a rich history of celebrating outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the quality of life, economic development, innovation and leadership.
The Best of the West Award ceremony was held at State Farm Stadium, with a diverse crowd of local government, business and community leaders. The story of Peoria Forward and the West Valley ecosystem was recognized alongside several unique economic and cultural projects. Peoria Forward was represented by several founders, the City of Peoria Economic Development team and ASU team members.
The evening was exhilarating and featured pictures of the ecosystem in action streamed on the jumbotron and remarks from Mayor Carlat about the importance of entrepreneurship. Kristin Slice accepted the award and recognized many of the people and ventures that have contributed to the ecosystem over the last four years.
This award is a milestone for our ecosystem. Thanks to your hard work and contribution, entrepreneurship is now recognized as a critical part of the West Valley’s growth.
