Vision
ASU will catalyze sustainable growth and economic, social and cultural development in the communities it engages through the innovative thinking, venture creation and entrepreneurial success of its students, faculty, alumni and other partners.
Mission
Facilitating innovation and entrepreneurship by providing educational opportunities and experiences and conducting research in entrepreneurship principles and practices.
Approach
Entrepreneurship is a means to impact and there should be broad access and multiple pathways to it. Important to our approach is a belief that entrepreneurship can be taught at ASU.
We help students understand what entrepreneurship means for them individually, how it connects to their studies, their goals, their lives and the world in which they live. We give students opportunities, in the classroom and outside of the classroom, to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. Students can take courses, get an internship or even pursue a certificate or degree that helps them apply their knowledge. Some students even start their own ventures. Students engaged in entrepreneurship are from all kinds of majors.
Being entrepreneurial can mean that you need a certain set of skills to pursue your goals, but it also means having a certain mindset. We try to encourage this mindset by increasing awareness of entrepreneurship at ASU, by valuing entrepreneurship and by the university itself being entrepreneurial.
