Experiential Learning Programs and Venture Funding
ASU undergraduate and graduate students participate in hands-on projects and receive not only mentorship, but resources to develop their vision and realize their venture. Programs such as Edson Student Entrepreneur Initiative, Entrepreneur Advantage Program, Performing Art Venture Experience and Technopolis, ASU students can receive mentoring, funds, and incubation space for their ventures.
InnovationSpace
A transdisciplinary education and research lab to teach students how to develop products that create market value while servicing real societal needs. Students from The colleges of design, engineering and business come together to create a true collaboration of ideas for the greater good.
Technology Ventures Services Group
ASU provides real world experience and business strategy for students involved in the technology venturing process. Several different disciplines, including law, business, engineering and science, participate in patent investigation, business modeling, deal structuring and market assessment and research.
Work with entrepreneurial companies
The Sun Devil Entrepreneurship Network provides graduate and undergraduate students with internships at hundreds of ventures in the Phoenix metropolitan area, connecting students with local entrepreneurs for experience and mentorship. Companies get the benefit of highly motivated and entrepreneurially-minded ASU students to help with ventures and projects, while the companies get connected to the cutting-edge knowledge being generated by Arizona State University's four campuses. Start an entrepreneurial project
Entrepreneur Advantage Project provides students (even those with no business experience) the opportunity to get funding for new products, services, ventures or even art exhibits. Grants of $2,000 are made to students to seed both for-profit and non-profit ventures. Learn More
Launch a venture
The Edson Student Entrepreneur Initiative is one of the broadest student entrepreneur programs in the country. Edson helps students across the university to explore their innovative ideas for business products and services in partnership with faculty, researchers and successful entrepreneurs from both the academic and private sectors. The program will help students succeed in any enterprise, large or small, for-profit or not-for-profit, domestic or global. Students apply for $5,000- $20,000 grants and receive mentoring, office space and a network with which to turn an idea into an enterprise. To date, Edson ventures have received $100 Million in external funding and in-kind services.
PURE: Alexandra and Andrea Maw launched a natural, organic fast food eatery based on a sustainable model, serving a wide selection of healthy foods for people on the go.
Scooty Call: Todd Komaromy and Kirk Bardin aim to provide designated drivers to people who may need assistance in returning personal vehicles (and themselves) to their residence after drinking at a local bar. Entrepreneur Advantage Project grant funding will provide non-profit start up support by allowing the organization to purchase a Di Blasi folding Motor Scooter.
Brightest Crayon: Hieu Tran (pictured with her brother) started the Brightest Crayon to provide social and recreational activities for children with special needs.
