Kathryn Scheckel is a senior in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, and in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Her studies include a double major in molecular biosciences and music, with a concentration in piano respectively. She is also working toward a certificate in philosophy, politics and law. Scheckel does research work in the neuroscience lab of Dr. Carsten Duch at ASU.

I know what you’re thinking: you already have a pretty solid grasp of what sex and gender mean. But bear with me, because it’s the finer points here that make a difference with regard to entrepreneurship. I was recently asked for my thoughts on how to create a movement of women entrepreneurs in the next generation, and gender, not sex, is a key part of my argument.

Jake Pinholster, the Director of The Herberger Institute School of Theatre and Film (starting July 1), received his BFA and MFA in Theatrical Design from the University of Florida in 2000 and 2003, respectively. In 2005, he was hired by ASU to develop curricula in media design, animation, editing and compositing as well as strengthen the graduate programs. His company, Mental Image, Inc.
