Scholarships help drive student entrepreneur success

David Metoyer
David Metoyer, undergraduate student in the W.P. Carey School of Business, introduces himself to peers at a recent ASU entrepreneurship event. Metoyer was recently named a Crown Innovation Scholar.

ASU student entrepreneurs are breaking the conventional thinking that to start a successful venture means you don’t have time for earning a degree at the same time.

As the growing demand for problem solvers in the world continues to rise, a new breed of entrepreneur is emerging; students who juggle the time for heavy course work with the burdens of launching startups and new businesses at the same time.

Nursing college redefines health education

Kinesiology students
Kinesiology students play an important role in research directed at investigating cerebral asymmetries and specificity of learning in human motor development.

Linda Mottle likes to say that ASU has had a college of nursing for 52 years but they just did not know it for the first forty-six.

Now, Mottle says, ASU’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) has become a powerhouse, a radical transition from perhaps one of the most humble beginnings of any college at the university.

Mottle, the former director of the Center for Health Innovation and Clinical Trials, who retired earlier this month, describes the college as a force that has gained international recognition.
