If you’ve already started your business or nonprofit and are looking to scale, here’s a unique opportunity to learn from the experts! Angie A. Swartz, President and CEO of Square Martini Media, will explain how to use Twitter to develop and enhance your marketing efforts. We’ve all heard of Twitter and most of us know how it works, but do you know how to make it work for you? Attend and learn how! Angie is the host of Twitter Talk Radio and the co-host of Boost Your Business Radio with small business expert Rieva Lesonsky. She’ll be providing expert tips to help you get your ideas off the ground and soaring into success.

Some of the greatest ideas in education, humanities, business, science, and the arts (among other disciplines) may have been lost because we did not possess the skills needed to bring them out in the open. The Edson Student Entrepreneur Initiative and ASU SkySong want to make sure these great ideas reach the places that need them most. This workshop is designed specifically to help you create and articulate your ideas, an ability essential in any field—be it creating your own business or nonprofit, working in an organization, or developing projects for class. Attendees will learn about methods and tools that enhance creative thinking, as well as funding opportunities in entrepreneurship at ASU.

Have questions you’d like to ask the experts? Then come out to OpenCoffee. OpenCoffee is a weekly meetup (sponsored by Flatterline) that brings together talented entrepreneurs and local investors in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. During GEW, OpenCoffee will be hosted at SkyCafé, located on the second floor of SkySong, ASU's Innovation Center in Scottsdale. SkySong is a collaborative working environment where ASU staff and faculty work closely with startup businesses and students to promote a culture of research and entrepreneurship. OpenCoffee participants will enjoy free coffee and pastries and a tour of the SkySong facility. They will also learn about ASU's many opportunities in entrepreneurship.

ASU values innovative contributions and recognizes faculty and staff who have re-imagined their roles by developing creative and inspiring higher education projects, programs, initiatives and techniques. The President’s Award for Innovation provides formal recognition for groups or teams of faculty and staff who have made significant contributions to higher education and ASU through innovation. At our “Write Now” workshop, you will learn how to write and develop an application for the award and learn about others’ best practices.
